Setting Up A New Hosted Blog
Well, I thought this blog set up was too easy and I was right. After setting up a FREE Word Press Bog I was told by my teachers that I should sign up with a hosting company so after I do all the work to get my Free blog ranked high, I won’t lose all my standing when I do get it hosted. So It was back to the drawing board. Hunting down a hosting company that had C Panel with Word Press.
First I researched several hosting deals and decided to go with the one the teachers suggested, Blue Host. Don’t waste time looking for a discount coupon code, there aren’t any. Ask me how I know:)
It had a pretty good deal and to save a few dollars I signed up for two full years. If you decide to cancel at any time they will refund you a pro-rated amount. **SAVINGS ALERT** Go with the two year plan and it will cost $166.80 averages to $6.95 a month.
I already had my Domain name I purchased on so I needed to learn how to transfer it over. Blue Host offered the directions and made that very easy to do.**SAVINGS ALERT** When buying domains from GoDaddy, google GoDaddy coupon codes. I was able to save $3.00 on each new domain I purchased.
Next came the job of changing the theme of the blog. I spent a good amount of time viewing all the themes when I set up the free blog so I wanted to go with the one I had chosen before. It was easy to find but hard to figure out how to get it over to my new blog. Well, that’s enough for one night.
